How to Sponsor a Horse or Donkey at Operation Horses Heal

Thank you for considering sponsoring one of our beloved horses or donkeys! Your sponsorship directly supports our mission to provide equine-assisted services to Veterans, active military, and their families. Here’s how you can help make a difference:

Step 1: Choose Your Horse or Donkey

Each of our horses and donkeys has a unique story, personality, and role in helping Veterans on their healing journey. Scroll down to learn more about the animals currently available for sponsorship. You can choose the one that resonates most with you!

Step 2: Select Your Sponsorship Level

We offer several levels of sponsorship to fit any budget:

  • Quartz Level: $20 per month—Helps cover basic care such as fly masks, fly boots, rain sheets, and winter blankets. 

  • Bronze Level: $50 per month – Helps with basic care such as feed, bedding, and grooming supplies.

  • Silver Level: $100 per month – Supports additional care, including veterinary visits and hoof care.

  • Gold Level: $250 per month – Covers comprehensive care, including training, specialized nutrition, and therapy.

If you’d like to make a one-time donation, we offer annual sponsorships starting at $500.

Step 3: Complete the Sponsorship Form

Once you’ve chosen your sponsorship level, complete our Sponsorship Form online or request a paper copy to submit in person. Your donation can be set up as a one-time gift or as a monthly recurring contribution.

Step 4: Receive Your Sponsorship Welcome Kit

As a sponsor, you’ll receive a special welcome package that includes:

  • A photo and bio of your sponsored horse or donkey.

  • Regular updates on their progress and how they’re helping Veterans and their families.

  • Invitations to exclusive events like Sponors Day to meet your sponsored animal in person.

  • Your name and photo on our sponsor’s page on our website

Step 5: Follow Your Sponsored Horse or Donkey’s Journey

Throughout the year, you’ll be part of their journey. From healing interactions with Veterans to moments of fun and relaxation, you’ll receive updates, photos, and even the opportunity to visit your sponsored horse or donkey at Operation Horses Heal.

    Farris Flynn is a donkey who has a lot of love to give! He has some special dietary needs and could use some hoof boots for his traveling adventures.

  • Professor Higgins

    Professor Higgins is a donkey who loves to give hugs! He has some special dietary needs and could use some hoof boots for his traveling adventures.

  • Flokie

    Flokie is the youngest of our herd members. He is a donkey who is always ready for adventures and fun. He has some special dietary needs and could use some hoof boots for his traveling adventures.

  • Hoss

    Hoss is a Quarter Horse who reminds everyone of the horses in cowboy movies. His heart is just as big in size. He is famous around these parts for helping others connect and forgive. He has some special hoof care and dental needs.

  • Kohl

    While she may not look like it, Kohl is a Paint horse. She has much to teach us about showing up authentically and setting boundaries. She does have some special hoof care needs and is aging gracefully.

  • Cody

    Cody is a Quarter Horse who had a previous career as a professional roping horse. Cody has extensive medical needs, requiring several medications and special dietary needs.

  • Princess

    Princess is a miniature horse and the oldest member of our herd. She has special hoof care needs as well as special dietary needs. She has a knack for helping participants get a clear picture on what boundary setting can look like.

  • Dixie

    Dixie is a Shetland Pony with some special hoof and dietary needs. She loves to get kisses and is always up for a good snack.

  • Teddy

    Teddy is a Miniature Horse who has a lot of get up and go! He has some special dietary needs and could use some hoof boots for his traveling adventures.
