Chili Cook-Off in Chelsea, WI & Trail Ride – September 2025

September 2025 was a full and exciting time for Operation Horses Heal (OHH), with two major events bringing together food, community, and support for Veterans and their families.

September 6, 2025 – Chili Cook-Off in Chelsea, WI
This year, we changed things up and hosted our annual Chili Cook-Off at the Chelsea Conservation Club in Chelsea, WI. The new venue offered a welcoming space for cooks, tasters, and community members to gather for a day of fun and flavor. Contestants brought their best chili recipes, while guests sampled, voted, and enjoyed raffles, music, and camaraderie. The event raised awareness and support for OHH’s mission of providing equine activities to Veterans, service members, and their families at no cost.

📅 Save the Date! Mark your calendars for October 17, 2026, when the Chili Cook-Off will return to the Chelsea Conservation Club. We’re already looking forward to another day of friendly competition and community fun!

September 7, 2025 – Trail Rides Across America: OHH Stop
The following day, Operation Horses Heal partnered to host a stop on the Trail Rides Across America journey at the Taylor County Horse Trail and Camp in Rib Lake, WI. This national trek is led by Michele Berling of BB Barn, who is riding across the United States to raise awareness for post-traumatic stress (PTS). Riders and community members came together in Rib Lake to support Michele’s mission and highlight the challenges Veterans face and the importance of community support.
